Located on the northwestern cost of Norway in the Nordmore district of county Moreog Romsdal, Kristiansund is a beautiful tourist destination in Norway. The city got official township status in 1742. It is surrounded by islands/municipalities Smola to the northeast, Tustna to the east, Frei to the south and Avery to the SW. In the northern side, the city is surrounded by beautiful Norwegian Sea and small island Grip. Kr.sund N is often used as abbreviation for the city for mailing address purpose whereas N stands for ‘North’ to distinguish it from southern city of Kristiansand.
