Haugesund is one of the most exciting and developing regions in Norway. It is enriched with numerous historical and other archaeological discoveries. You can tour the town hall, which is decorated with mural paintings by Alf Rolfsen, the same artist that once had beautified Oslo city hall. At Krosshaugen, you can visit an old stone cross dating back 1000 AD when Norway converted to Christianity. Also visit Norway’s National Monument (build to mark Harald the Fairhair’s grave) just located north of Haugesund. This wonderful juxtaposition of new and old site makes Haugesund a crowd-pleasant destination and touring these sites would be nothing but a relaxing affair with art and culture of the city.
