Cancun, in the state of Quintana Roo on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, is the most visited resort area in the country and receives over 3 million visitors each year. The tourist attraction around Ruta Maya includes waterholes near mangrove area, sort of sinkholes filled with clean fresh water.  These are called Cenotes, and you can swim in them.  There are tons around this area and they are worth visiting.

Cancun is a wonderful tourist destination.  For beach lover who does not want to leave the shining sun, Cancun is worth visiting.
